    Ivoni is a marine scientist/ichthyologist who graduated from the Department of Marine Science of the University of Aegean. Her scientific interests focus on the study of the ecology and conservation of the loggerhead sea turtle Caretta caretta as well as on the assessment of the effects of Marine Protected areas on fish fauna and fisheries. She has participated as a researcher in several European funded and National research projects while she has a long track record in the implementation of research protocols in the field along with data collection, analysis and management.
